Hiking options
Right outside the doors of Montino, you will have multiple hiking options, starting from easy forest strolls to multi-day hikes in the mountains around.
Just a quick drive from us, you can find Val Grande National Park, famous for its untouched landscapes of the High Alps. The park is entirely unpopulated, making it the largest wilderness area in the Alps.
The area´s extreme attractions include the "Lago Maggiore Zipline" which is located a few minutes drive away from Montino and the "Wonderwood" adventure park

Italian towns to explore
Verbania, a short bus ride from Montino is a charming city on Lake Maggiore. It boasts picturesque landscapes, historic architecture, and a vibrant cultural scene. Visitors can enjoy museums, galleries, beaches, and any service you will need for your stay (Supermarkets, Pharmacies, Hospitals etc.)
Visit the town of Stresa known for its beautiful lakeside setting, promenades, and grand hotels. It's also a jumping-off point for boat tours to the Borromean Islands, A must-see for any visitor in the area. The islands are Isola Madre, Isola Bella, and Isola Pescatori. Isola Bella is the most famous, known for its stunning Palazzo Borromeo and elaborate Italian gardens.

Beaches and water activities
If you fancy a short hike down to the lake (or just take the bus) you will encounter fantastic beaches with amazing views and clear waters. Some of the best lake beaches around are:

Suna Beach (Lido di Suna): right on the edge of Verbania, offering a large sandy area with plenty of amenities like sun loungers, parasols, a beach bar, and a restaurant.

Ghiffa Beach: This beach is known for its clear waters and beautiful views of the lake. It's a great spot for swimming and snorkeling.

Canerro Riviera Beach: Compared to the larger beaches on the lake, Cannero Riviera offers a more intimate and relaxed atmosphere.

Where should we start?
Living in Italy is a foodies heaven... with so many options and veriaty of traditional Italian dishes.
- Right next to montino, about 5 min drive, there is an autentic family run Italian restaurant called Ristorante Pizzeria al sole where you can find all the Italian classiscs from Traditional Pizza from a wood oven starting at 7€, Fresh pasta, Seafood, Tiramisu and much more.
- In the closest city Intra / Verbania there are plenty of culinary experiences such as:
- Gelateria "Gelatomania"
- "La Casera" deli store
and plenty of other restaurants, bars, Gelaterias and more
- The closest vinyard is Azienda Vitivinicola Edoardo Patrone where we can visit in the weekends and taste the local wine
- Every supermarket in Verbania offers huge selection of cheese, wine and the best of the italian cusine in great pricing. Esselunga, the largest supermarket in town, have an option for online shopping and delivery to Montino. Their offering includes many organic and vegan prodcuts. We offer our guests delivery service from the supermarket twice a week.
